This Weeks Kauai Fishing Report

Aloha from Kauai! Here is the Kauai Sport Fishing Report for the first week of May. Kauai fishing conditions are starting to heat up. While we experienced a stretch of some lively seas, that didn’t prevent the bite from being hot. This week the Mahi-Mahi bite continued to be active. We also had a late season Short Billed spearfish hit our outrigger, and we managed to land. There were steady schools of Akus in our fishing grounds and we landed a couple Wahoo as well.

The big Blue Marlin were a bit elusive this week, but we will continue our search. This next week fishing conditions are lining up for the better. The seas are starting the settle and the moon and tide phases are lining up for what should be a good bite. We will be working the ledge for Ono’s to start out most of our trips, and then we will be out looking for some big Ahi’s and some big Blue Marlins.
